On January 26, 2017, the Faculty of Economics, Ljubljana University (FELU) together with Danfoss Trata, hosted a third international conference Future of Manufacturing & Supply Chain Excellence, with the focus on Supply Chain Planning and Analytics.
The conference was opened by John Koelink from Bayer Animal Health, who presented risk management for sustainable and long-term business in supply chain with effective database management system. Sabine Eisses from DHL Global Forwarding presented examples of good practices focused on the importance of digital transformation in supply chain. She also introduced opportunities for customers of logistics services to optimize their transportation flows and reduce costs. Danijel Banek from Atlantic Grupa presented a case of efficient risk reduction within supply chain in accordance with the company`s strategy. Henning Krebs from Lufthansa Technik Logistics Services conluded the morning session with an interactive presentation of logistic network design challenges.
The conference attracted more than 200 experts from the fields of manufacturing, supply chain, purchasing, logistics and retail. In the afternoon they had the opportunity to attend one of the six workshops. The participants were able to listen to the best practices of local and foreign companies such as Atlantic Grupa, Novartis, Processi d.o.o., Danfoss Trata, S & T and lecturers from the Faculty of Economics, from the Department of Business Informatics and Logistics.
Together with the partner Symphony EYC, this year’s conference also offered an excellent opportunity for students to present their work in the field of supply chain. Commission selected 10 finalists whereas winner was awarded with 500 EUR of grand prize.
