How do you see Business Intelligence (BI), as a technology or as a concept? Either way, it is about delivering relevant and reliable information to the right people at the right time with the goal of achieving better decisions faster. But there is so much more to it than that! 

Business intelligence vs business intuition. Which one plays the key role in organisations’ strategic decision making? Well, since we are economists you certainly know our answer – “it depends”! However, we can say that data and intuition reinforce each other. In other words, we use BI to inform our intuition and simultaneously intuition helps us to look at the right data and algorithms that provide the “best” decisions.

In CPOEF E-TALK we have focused on the strategic role that data analytics can have for a company. With our guest speakers we have discussed the added value of BI and its practical implications. More precisely, we tried to answer the following questions:
